The first data about the real estate, where restaurant Karl Friedrich is now situated, originate from 1634. Through different times this building has been home to several aldermen. Last century a restaurant called "Anglais" operated here, as well as the security-headquarters of NKVD (the Secret Service of Soviet Union) and lately also a shoe repair shop. In November 24, 1996 the restaurant, this time bearing the name "Karl Friedrich", was opened up in these rooms again.
Karl Friedrich is a cosy restaurant with pleasant service, delicious food and a superb wine selection. It is situated on the Town-hall Square.
